Reality television has already given us traitors, survivors and social games dressed up as dinner parties. Hulu’s next twist puts a mob movie jacket on the whole thing. The Mob, a new celebrity competition series hosted by Emmy-nominated actress Parker Posey, premieres on Hulu on October 26, 2026, and it sends a dozen famous faces to a lavish Italian villa with one clear prize: up to $250,000.
The setup is simple and deliberately theatrical. Contestants form a Family. They complete mob-movie-inspired jobs to earn money and prove loyalty. Someone becomes the Don, and that person holds real power: who gets paid, who stays, and who gets “whacked” out of the game. Loyalty is the official currency. Betrayal is the unofficial one. Posey, who also serves as an executive producer, sits at the center as host and ring leader, bringing the dry wit she has shown everywhere from indie comedies to The White Lotus.
The cast list reads like a cross-section of modern reality and screen fame. Joe Gorga of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Harry Jowsey, Chelsea Lazkani of Selling Sunset, Bruno Tonioli of Dancing With the Stars, Aida Turturro of The Sopranos, Willam Belli, Debi Mazar and several Bachelor Nation alumni are among the names heading to Tuscany. That mix is the draw: people who already know how to play cameras sharing one villa with absolute power on the table.
Jobs, Dons and weekly whacks
Every episode asks the Family to survive a job with a gangster flavor, then wrestle with the politics of who actually benefits. The Don distributes winnings and eliminations, but the role itself is not safe. If the Family turns, the Don can fall. Trailers lean into poolside scheming, loud vows to cheat and manipulate, and the sunny Italian estate that makes all of it look expensive. Comparisons to The Traitors are inevitable; Studio Lambert’s involvement only sharpens that link, while Primal Media and showrunner Susan House shape the format with Posey.
Whether The Mob feels fresh or familiar will depend on how far the show pushes the Don mechanic and how willing the cast is to burn alliances early. For now, Hulu has a clear autumn event: a glossy villa, a clever host, and a competition that sells itself in one sentence. Episodes arrive weekly after the October 26 premiere, giving fans plenty of time to pick a favorite capo before the first whack lands.
