Practical Magic 2 Brews at Home: The Owens Sisters’ Sequel Is Now Available to Rent or Buy

Posted on October 17, 2026 by xaldris-sl1

Spooky season movie nights just got a little more magical. Practical Magic 2, the long-awaited sequel to the 1998 cult favorite, is now available at home on premium digital, and it landed right as October candles and cozy blankets come out of storage.

Warner Bros. released the film to digital on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, through Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango at Home and other storefronts. On Amazon it costs $19.99 to rent and $24.99 to buy, and a rental gives you 48 hours to finish once you press play. Collectors will have to wait a little longer: 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD editions are due on December 1, and the home release includes making-of featurettes about the folklore and witchcraft traditions the filmmakers researched.

The Owens women are back

Directed by Susanne Bier, the sequel reunites Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as sisters Sally and Gillian Owens. This time the family curse, the one that dooms the men the Owens women fall for, lands on the next generation. Sally has tried to protect her grown daughters, free-spirited Kylie (Joey King) and aspiring doctor Antonia (Maisie Williams), by keeping their witchy heritage secret. When Kylie’s boyfriend ends up in a coma, she heads to England in search of a spell that might break the curse for good, with her mother and aunt close behind. Lee Pace also joins the cast.

The PG-13 film runs 130 minutes and did solid business in cinemas after opening domestically on September 11, earning about $30 million in its first weekend and roughly $104.7 million worldwide so far. Reviews have suggested the sequel leans heavily on nostalgia, but the returning stars still bring the warmth and sisterly chemistry that made the original a sleepover classic.

If you would rather wait to stream it with a subscription, Warner Bros. has not announced a date for HBO Max yet. Based on the studio’s usual timeline, some outlets expect it there around the end of the year. Until then, the rental price might be a small spell worth casting for a girls’ night in, preferably with midnight margaritas.
