After three seasons of soccer, wilderness and whispered rituals, Yellowjackets is finally heading for the exit. Paramount+ will premiere the fourth and final season on Friday, November 20, exclusively for Premium plan subscribers — and the official logline makes clear that rescue will not tidy anything up.
Sins before salvation
According to Paramount’s own description, the survivors race to bury their sins before rescue arrives, while an old flame roars back into town with plans of her own. “Not every homecoming is a joyous one,” the press notes warn, “and this one’s going to sting.” That dual timeline — teens stranded after a plane crash in the northern wilderness, and the adult survivors nearly twenty-five years later — remains the show’s engine. Season 4 is expected to push the wilderness story toward the moment of rescue, while the present-day cast still tries to keep buried what the forest taught them.
The cast that built the cult
Creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson return to close the saga they started. The final-season lineup includes Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson and two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank, among others. Equal parts survival epic, psychological horror and coming-of-age drama, the series has always thrived on the gap between who these women were on that soccer team and who they became after the crash.
All previous seasons are already on Paramount+: Seasons 1–2 on any plan, Season 3 on Premium. Season 4 continues that Premium exclusivity, so binge planners should check their subscription tier before November 20.
Why the finale matters now
Few shows have balanced teen cannibal folklore and suburban midlife dread as confidently as this one. Ending on the studio’s schedule rather than fading into limbo is good news for fans who have waited through hiatuses and ownership shifts. Whether the final answers satisfy the theories that fill every comment section is another question — but at least the calendar is set. November 20, Paramount+, and one last walk into the trees.
