Peacock Sets October 9 Streaming Debut for Spielberg’s Disclosure Day

Posted on September 10, 2026 by xaldris-sl1

Mark the calendar: Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day will stream exclusively on Peacock beginning October 9, the platform confirmed this week.

Fresh from a theatrical run that began June 12 and banked about $241 million worldwide, the Amblin/Universal sci-fi thriller follows a TV meteorologist (Emily Blunt) and a math-whiz whistleblower (Josh O’Connor) racing a shadowy cover-up around decades of evidence of extraterrestrial contact. Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and Colman Domingo round out the ensemble.

Critics largely embraced the film as vintage Spielberg wonder — spiritually curious, emotionally direct, and built for big screens. Deadline’s Pete Hammond called it among Spielberg’s most moving recent works and praised Blunt and O’Connor’s paired performances. David Koepp penned the screenplay from a story by Spielberg, who also produced alongside Kristie Macosko Krieger.

The October 9 date gives Peacock a high-profile fall anchor: a summer theatrical title still fresh in cultural memory, arriving just as awards chatter and cozy-weather viewing collide. For viewers who missed it in theaters — or want a second pass with pause-and-rewind conspiracy hunting — living-room Disclosure Day is the next chapter.

In a crowded streaming calendar that also includes major horror and franchise plays this fall, Spielberg’s alien-contact saga stands out as an original adult sci-fi event rather than another sequel. If the theatrical buzz holds on the couch, Peacock may have itself a sleeper-to-staple conversation piece for spooky season.
