The Terminal List Season 2 Lands on Prime Video: James Reece Trades Revenge for a Globe-Trotting Spy Hunt

Posted on October 21, 2026 by xaldris-sl1

When the first season of The Terminal List ended, James Reece had crossed every name off his list and had very little left to live for. Four years later, the Navy SEAL commander is back, and the question is no longer who wronged him but what a man like him does once the revenge is finished. Season 2 arrives on Prime Video today, October 21, with all eight episodes dropping at once in more than 240 countries and territories.

From a personal vendetta to a world map

The new season draws on True Believer, the second novel in Jack Carr’s best-selling series, and the change of source material shows in the scale. Season 1 was a tight, angry revenge story. This time the story opens up into an espionage thriller that sends Reece across the Indian Ocean, through Southern and Northern Africa, into the Middle East and on to Europe. Along the way he stumbles into a conspiracy that stretches from Moscow to Langley and, in a twist that should keep viewers guessing, connects to his own family history.

That makes this a different kind of ride. Instead of a man hunting the people who destroyed his life, we get a man who has to find a new reason to keep going, and who discovers that the shadows he fought were only a small part of a much bigger picture.

Familiar faces and new players

Chris Pratt, who also executive produces, returns as Reece, and several fan favorites come back with him. Tom Hopper is Raife Hastings again, Constance Wu returns as journalist Katie Buranek, Dar Salim is back as Mohammed Farooq, and Luke Hemsworth reprises Jules Landry. Gabriel Luna joins as newcomer Freddy Strain, and the international cast grows with Costa Ronin, Olga Kurylenko, Yul Vazquez, Arnold Vosloo and Shiraz Tzarfati.

Behind the camera, showrunner David DiGilio is joined by executive producers Antoine Fuqua, Kat Samick and author Jack Carr himself, which keeps the series close to the voice of the books.

Realism stays the selling point

The show built its reputation on feeling authentic, and the team clearly wants to protect that. Former Navy SEAL Jared Shaw and former Army Ranger Max Adams oversee the action and the authenticity work, and military veterans contribute as writers, actors, technical advisors and directors. Former SEAL Ray Mendoza, known for Warfare, is among them. For fans who loved the tactical detail of the first season, that is good news: the gunfights, the planning scenes and the quiet moments between teammates should feel lived-in rather than staged.

Should you binge it?

If Season 1 hooked you with its grim intensity, expect a broader, more travel-heavy thriller that trades some of that rawness for international intrigue. Newcomers can still jump in, since the story is built around a fresh mission, but the emotional weight lands harder if you know what Reece lost. With eight episodes available at once, this is a clear candidate for a long weekend on the couch, popcorn optional and passport not required.
